You are an 8-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals and the rise of the steps!

Forville Market: 5-, 11 Rue du Marché Forville, 06400 Cannes

In the spirit of French culture, a visit to Marché Forville is certainly worth the detour. It is open from 7am until mid-afternoon every day except Mondays when the antiques market takes place. Try the burrata truffle (Italian soft cheese - Amazing!) the olive tapenade (olive paste with tomato and garlic) or the fantastic fruit and vegetable selection.

If you're lucky enough, pop in and say hello to Hervé and Julian from my favorite wine cellar in town. Their recommendations are fantastic, their knowledge impressive, and they're really, really nice. Hervé worked as a sommelier for Gordan Ramsay at Petrus in London.

The old port and Le Suquet:

The "Suquet" hill is the cradle of Cannes. The oldest part of the port "Quai St Pierre", welcomed traders as early as 1838. Now it houses the yachts of the rich and famous. Take a walk to the Musee de la Castre, the Tour Carrée and the church. From the top you can admire the view of the city, the port, the Croisette and the Lérins Islands. The view of the Croisette at night is also fantastic and a good way to walk after a good meal.

The islands of Lérins:

We also offer you to leave the crowds and jump on the ferry to the island of Saint Honorat. It is the smaller (and prettier) of the two "Islands of Lérins" near Cannes and still houses the monastery of 30 Cistercian monks.
They produce exceptional wine at Abbeye de Lérins which makes a great gift for friends and family as it is hard to get off the island. Be sure to ask for 'Saint Honorat' because ferries leave for both islands from the terminal. Also check return times and don't miss the last ferry.
